Following its five-day meeting over 15 - 19 April 2019, the selection committee of the Film Fund Luxembourg has announced its approval of the following funding for twelve film projects in the Grand Duchy, totalling €6,817,000.
Selective Financial support for projects in development (total €180,000):
- Crise et chuchotement – allocated amount: €60,000 (overall development budget: €67,000; 89.55% of Selective Financial Support) – documentary feature film - writers-directors: Joseph Mayor and Laurent Moyse - production: Rishon Films;
- Krieg und Erinnerung – €30,000 (overall: €115,000; 26.09%) – documentary feature film – writer-director: Loretta Walz – production: Amour Fou Luxembourg;
- Slocum – €30,000 (overall: €248,721; 12.06%) – animated feature film – writer: Anik Le Ray – writer-director: Jean-François Laguionie – production: Melusine Productions;
- Les nuits – €60,000 (overall: €129.396; 46.37%) – virtual reality project – writer-director: Bertrand Mandico – production: Les Films Fauves.
Projects in production (total €6,637,000):
- Kommunioun – allocated amount: €2,300,000 (overall budget for project: €4,064,286; 56.59% of Selective Financial support) - fiction feature film - writer: Régine Abadia - writer-director: Jacques Molitor - production: Les Films Fauves (filming scheduled to begin in October 2019);
- Cosmos Within Us - €252,000 (overall: €782,836; 32.19%) - virtual reality project - writer: Ben Farry - writer-director: Tupac Martir - production: a_BAHN (filming scheduled to begin in June 2019);
- Les blagues de Toto – €1,350,000 (overall: €7,999,617; 16.88%) – feature film – writers: Gaël Leforestier, Julien Leimdorfer and Mathias Gavarry – writer-director: Pascal Bourdiaux – production: Bidibul Productions (filming scheduled to begin in June 2019);
- Saules aveugles, femme endormie – €900,000 (overall: €6,000,000; 15.00%) – animated feature film – writer-director: Pierre Földes – production: Doghouse Films (start of production scheduled for July 2019);
- Die Mucklas – €1,550,000 (overall €7,613,316; 20.36%) – feature film – writer: Thomas Springer – director: Ali Samadi Ahadi – production: Amour Fou Luxembourg (filming scheduled to begin in October 2019);
- Les épouvantails (Cineworld) – €50,000 (overall: €499,952; 10.00%) – feature film – writer-director: Nouri Bouzid – production: Samsa Film;
- Streams (Cineworld) – €140,000 (overall: €743,000; 18.84%) –feature film – writer-director: Mehdi Hmili – production: Tarantula Luxembourg;
- Under the Skin (Cineworld) – €95,000 (overall: €363,500; 26.13%) – virtual reality project – writers: Andressa Dos Santos, Jonathan Vieira and Raphael Cruz – writer-director: João Inada – production: Tarantula Luxembourg.
On this occasion, the selection committee reviewed 33 projects for a total amount of requested assistance of €15,122,908.
