On Sunday 23 February 2025, Neumünster Abbey’s (neimënster) young audience programme, the minimënster, will host the fifth edition of the Big Bang Festival in Luxembourg-Grund, from 11:00.
Created by Wouter van Looy and the Zonzo company, the Big Bang Festival takes place in nineteen cultural centres in Europe and Canada every year. The Zonzo company is known for imagining and creating innovative young audience numbers from scratch, where music is at the heart of the shows. The site will be transformed for the duration of the event into a costume party, as well as a gigantic land of discovery and play for children, from five years of age.
The Big Bang Festival invites all families to come masked and to party in a carnival atmosphere, similar to Venice or Rio de Janeiro. Musicians, filmmakers and videographers will be present to develop worlds that are sometimes original, sometimes poetic, through interactive shows, visual concerts or intriguing sound installations.
These musical creations tour all over the world and are recognised by the public and professionals for their pioneering and original nature.
The programme will include:
- a Silent Disco, by DJ Maurice;
- an Echo Room that creates a world where everything becomes an echo;
- Geigen, described as a futuristic musical adventure;
- a “Play with me” interactive installation
- and many more.
Tickets cost €15, €9 (reduced fee) or €1.50 with a Kulturpass. For further information, including registration details, see: https://www.neimenster.lu/en/events/big-bang-festival-2025/
