On Saturday 22 November 2025, a wood-based panel manufacturer, Kronospan Luxembourg and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) organised the third edition of its “Grow” project, planting around 950 trees across Luxembourg.

The tree planting day took place on a reforestation plot in the municipality of Differdange, bringing together more than 60 volunteers, including Kronospan employees, partners, friends and children. Under the guidance of FSC Luxembourg, the group planted around 950 trees - alders, hornbeams, chestnut trees and lime trees.

The initiative aims to plant more than 6,000 trees across Luxembourg and restore a plot affected by bark beetles, a pest that has damaged forests in recent years. Additional planting activities will be carried out in the coming weeks by professionals.

The “Grow” project was launched in 2021 by the Kronospan Foundation, an association created in 2011 by the global Kronospan Group. The initiative reflects the foundation’s mission to reinvest resources into local communities and promote sustainable development across the group’s 40 production sites, particularly those in Europe.

Since 2023, the objective has been to plant 1,000,000 trees each year to help improve quality of life for future generations.

To date, participating factories have planted 2,821,180 trees in sixteen countries, including Germany, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Spain, the United States, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, the United Kingdom, Serbia and Slovakia.
