The Regional Tourist Office (ORT) of the Mullerthal Region - Luxembourg's Little Switzerland has announced that it is organising a World Clean Up Day event on Saturday 21 September 2024.
ORT Mullerthal is joining the World Clean Up Day initiative for the fifth time and is inviting the public to "Hike & Clean" on the hiking trails in the region on this occasion.
While World Clean Up Day is being held this year on Saturday 20 September, the Mullerthal region collection will take place one day later. Globally, 19.1 million people from 211 countries are taking part in the campaign. 219,000 tonnes of rubbish have already been collected in this way.
Anyone who would like to take part in the Clean Up Day Mëllerdall is invited to set up their hiking group and register with the regional tourist office via email: info@mullerthal.lu or via tel.: 720-457-1.
Tongs and collection bags will be provided, and people are welcome to bring their own gloves. At the end of the hike, participants can hand in the collected rubbish at a collection point. The collection points are located throughout the region and can be found on the ORT Mullerthal website: https://www.mullerthal.lu/.
The organisers also confirmed that the Clean Up Day Mëllerdall is linked to a competition again this year: anyone who uploads a picture of themselves or their group with the filled rubbish bag on Instagram or Facebook and then tags the picture with @visitmullerthal can win prizes.
