On Wednesday 23 February 2022, the Luxembourg Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development and the Government IT Centre (Centre des technologies de l'information de l'État - CTIE) jointly announced an online process for applying for the annual hunting permit.
Hunters will now be able to apply for an annual hunting permit online at MyGuichet.lu and downloading the supporting documents as well. Payment will also be made online at the end of the process. After verification of the documents, the annual hunting licence will be issued in PDF format.
The process is also available in the MyGuichet.lu mobile application.
In addition, it will be possible to make a request by post as well but the delivery will take several days, unlike a much shorter time compared to the digital procedure.
This approach is part of the digitilisation process of administrative procedures bringing many advantages both for citizens and for the public administration. Digitilisation makes it possible, among other things, to reduce the costs and delays associated with issuing a hunting permit.
Carole Dieschbourg, Minister for the Environment, Climate and Sustainable Development, said of the new procedure: “Administrative simplification is a crucial point in improving our service to citizens. Very often, it involves the digitilisation of procedures. I am therefore delighted that we have been able to modernise this approach in an effective way. We will continue in the same spirit with other approaches, with the aim of quickly digitilising all of our citizen procedures”.
