Cattenom nuclear power plant;

The Diplomatic Council DC Luxembourg ASBL has announced that an information day on the topic of nuclear energy is taking place in Luxembourg City on Saturday 26 October 2024.

Benjamin Ptak will present the benefits of nuclear energy at this public event, which aims to "spark meaningful conversations and shift perceptions on this crucial energy source".

The schedule for the day is as follows:

10:00: Information stand in Place Guillaume II in Luxembourg-Ville
19:00: Presentation at Kinepolis Kirchberg
21:00: Discussion at El Barrio in Luxembourg-Kirchberg

The presentation topic is "Nuclear Power in Luxembourg and Around the World." About 30 nuclear experts will gather to share their insights, all part of a global initiative launched in San Francisco in 2019.

Benjamin Ptak explained: "For every energy problem we might encounter, nuclear power can provide solutions at very reasonable cost.  As soon as you show examples and explain to people that the rhetoric we hear everywhere [...] can be easily challenged, people are no longer so opposed to it."

Benjamin has two primary goals: first, to "encourage Luxembourg to recognise nuclear energy as a solution, not a problem", and second, to "advocate for the construction of Luxembourg's own nuclear power plant".

He has also initiated the movement Lëtz Atom to further this cause.
