A new 2015-2016 campaign from BEE SECURE will aim to raise public awareness of the problems of cloud computing.
BEE SECURE, an initiative geared towards the promotion of raising awareness for the safer use of new information and communication technologies, celebrated its 5th anniversary on 9 October 2015 by presenting its new 'Clever Cloud' campaign. The event was attended by Secretary of State for the Economy, Francine Closener, and Secretary of State for Education, Children and Youth, Marc Hansen, as well as the three partners of the National Youth Service (SNJ), the KannerJugendTelefon (KJT) and Security Made in Lëtzebuerg (SMILE).
The theme of cloud computing was selected by BEE SECURE as it reflects the changing uses of information technologies in current societies. The new BEE SECURE 2015-16 campaign will seek to inform the public of the reality of cloud decrypting in its economic, technological and legal aspects. Both the positive consequences and the associated risks concerning personal data will be addressed.
"Our ministry places information and communication technologies at the benefit of formal and non-formal education," commented Marc Hansen. "Through out contribution within BEE SECURE, we are offering an important element with the campaign: awareness for youths and their supervisors".
Francine Closener in turn touched upon the strategic initiatives of the Government for the benefit of cybersecurity and the Luxembourg economy, emphasising the importance of the topic of cloud computing.
