Weorganize.lu, a new event management company in Luxembourg which specialises in event organising and related matters, has launched its operation with a new type of event, the Rolling Dinner.
The event took place on Thursday 29 October at the Cep d'Or in Hëttermillen, a winery on the banks of the Moselle river. This dinner was organised in the wine cellar where those attending enjoyed a five course menu, inbetween the wine barrels.
This is a unique experience and the first time in Luxembourg, a 5 course dinner in a wine cellar with live background piano music: the organisers matched the flavour from the wines of Cep d'Or to the delicious food from Nitteler Hof by rolling the dinner table from one wine barrel to the next after each course, tasting the wines from each barrel. An experience which must be tried to be believed!
The company is run by business partners Mary Rose de Vries and Joanne Walter who offer other event organisation services including team building events for companies and special cooking classes; they also offer private / business dinners and Sunday lunch parties and also specialise in organising events in Tuscany in Italy.
Mary-Rose de Vries, half Dutch, half Filipina, has been travelling everywhere in the world, since she was a small child, with her parents (mostly due to her father's work), grew up and studied in The Netherlands and Luxembourg. With a very international background she speaks 7 languages and is now learning Italian. After a bit more than 20 years career in Banking & Finance and taking care of her now 4 year-old daughter, Mary-Rose wants to do something totally different and started her own Events Organising Company. Mary-Rose is very much into travelling - one of her favourite places is Tuscany - and in organising events, socialising, learning about different cultures, helping people, and loves animals.
She found the right business partner in Joanne Walter a few months after having started the Company and together they have developed the concept.
Joanne Walter, originally from Edinburgh in Scotland, has lived in Luxembourg for 15 years. She is married with 3 girls (aged 9 and two 5 year old twins). Having worked in finance for 20 years, both in Edinburgh and Luxembourg, she is now happy to join Mary-Rose in event organising. A change in career, but having arranged many personal events over the years, she is very excited to be part of Mary-Rose's team. Joanne speaks English and has a good understanding of German. She enjoys socialising and meeting new people and has a keen interest in art and design. She likes to keep fit and has participated in a few half-marathons.
