Anefore, Luxembourg's national agency responsible for implementing the European programmes in the fields of education, training, youth and sport, has announced that it held the seventh edition of its Summerfest on Wednesday 23 July 2026.
According to the agency, more than 130 beneficiaries and friends of the Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps (ESC) programmes gathered at the Athénée de Luxembourg to celebrate the European projects selected in 2025 and enjoy a convivial and festive occasion together.
In his welcome speech, Raoul Wirion, President of Anefore, highlighted the importance of the Erasmus+ and ESC programmes as drivers of learning, openness and cooperation for both individuals and organisations. He noted that the projects selected in 2025, representing more than €10 million in funding in Luxembourg, will enable 5,869 mobility activities, offering opportunities for discovery, personal development and European cooperation. He also paid tribute to the beneficiaries, whose projects contribute to building a more open, supportive and forward-looking society.
More than 80 beneficiary organisations received an Erasmus+ Trophy or a European Solidarity Corps Trophy in recognition of the quality of their projects selected under the 2025 calls for proposals.
Anne Calteux, Representative of the European Commission in Luxembourg, delivered her speech as part of the "Protect What Matters" campaign, highlighting that the active participation of young people is one of the European Commission's priorities. She underlined the role of the beneficiaries of the Erasmus+ and ESC programmes, whose projects give concrete expression to this commitment to citizenship, democratic participation and solidarity. As the end of her mandate approaches, she recalled that these initiatives help bring European values to life on a daily basis.
The European School Luxembourg I, the Deutsch-Luxemburgisches Schengen-Lyzeum Perl and the International School of Differdange and Esch-sur-Alzette also received the eTwinning School Label 2026-2027, which recognises and rewards the involvement, commitment and dedication of individual teachers, as well as their schools as a whole.
In her closing remarks, Christine Pegel, Director of Anefore, reminded participants that the deadline for submitting applications under the final round of the 2026 calls for proposals is 1 October 2026. She added that Anefore will organise online information sessions at the beginning of August and in September to support interested organisations in preparing their applications. Registration for these sessions remains open until Thursday 30 July 2026.
