Luxembourg’s Ministry of Mobility and Public Works announced on Thursday 11 June 2026 that during a meeting of the Chamber of Deputies’ Committee on Mobility and Public Works, the draft law concerning the financing of the construction of the International Boarding School in Mondorf-les-Bains was presented to members of parliament. 

According to the ministry, the school’s offering includes:

• a primary school providing European education, with daytime care provided by the Education and Care Service;

• a secondary school offering Luxembourgish and European secondary education, as well as vocational education programmes;

• a sports boarding facility to accommodate young people of different ages, both national and international, in connection with sporting events and activities.

Prepared by the Public Buildings Administration in close collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth, as well as the school’s management, the project aims in particular to:

• provide an international educational offering adapted to the needs of the region;

• integrate boarding facilities in order to facilitate the accommodation of pupils;

• meet current standards in terms of sustainability and the quality of public infrastructure.

The ministry detailed that the total capacity of the school will be 1,690 pupils (300 primary pupils, 1,090 secondary pupils and 300 vocational education pupils), with a maximum boarding capacity of 83 beds and a total staff complement of 230 people.

The total cost of the project is estimated at €210.6 million, inclusive of VAT.
