Luxembourg's Ministry of the Economy has announced that its "Luxembourg Strategy" department is organising a public conference dedicated to the future of the national economy next week.

The Luxembourg Strategy unit conducts, in a holistic, participatory and iterative manner, exercises of strategic foresight, physical quantification and integrated modelling with the aim of considering and anticipating new economic perspectives for the country.

In order to stimulate a debate with all stakeholders, Luxembourg Strategy is organising the conference "Anticipating the possible futures of the Luxembourg economy" at the European Convention Center Luxembourg (ECCL) from 15 to 16 November 2021.

The first part of this conference will be dedicated to megatrends and their manifestations in Luxembourg, while the second part will be devoted to existing national response strategies or those under development to support the emergence of a more sustainable and competitive economy.

Luxembourg's Minister of the Economy, Franz Fayot, will deliver both the opening and closing speeches on the first and second days respectively. Other renowned speakers include Olivier Blanchard, Professor of Economics emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and Pedro Conceição, Director of the Human Development Report Office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The conference will be held in French and English; no translation will be provided.
