On Monday evening, Gault & Millau launched their first guide exclusively focusing on the Grand Duchy at the Chapito at Casino2000 in Mondorf-les-Bains, entitled "A Taste of Luxembourg".

Luxembourg had previously been included together with Belgium; since last year's joint guide, Elch (14/20) has appeared for the first time, along with Lefèvre and Postkutsch, with l'Ecuelle, le Lion d'Or and Mamma Bianca (all 13/20), with B13, Leweck, Mi & Ti also recommended.

La Christallerie and Windsor have risen from 15/20 to 16/20, with Two6Two earning a second toque. Rising to 14/20 are Cibo's and Oro e Argento, with la Pomme Cannelle receiving its first toque.

In addition, Fabrice Salvador of La Cristallerie restaurant at Hôtel Le Place d'Armes in Luxembourg city was unveiled as the Chef of the Year 2016. This year also singled out Dominique Rizzi who was presented with a special Dimploma during the event which was held in front of journalists and invited guests, of which 280 were treated to a special gala dinner prepared by eight of the top chefs in the Grand Duchy.

Philippe Limbourg, director of the publication, stated "above all, the customer wants taste and quality"...

The Gault & Millau guide for Luxembourg, A Taste of Luxembourg, will be available in bookshops and online (http://shop.gaultmillau.be) at a price of €15.95. It is also available in 75 restaurants and 75 businneses.
