On Tuesday 25 June 2024, a new Bistro-Brasserie was opened in Warken, near Ettelbruck in the east of the Grand Duchy.
Chronicle.lu spoke with its owner, Christophe Diederich, who explained that up to 250 people were expected during the evening at the official opening, with finger food and drinks, music and live EURO2024 football on a large screen.
He confirmed that the restaurant has a capacity of 80 covers and has a total of twelve staff, and it will be open to the public from Wednesday 26 June.
Located in the agricultural region of Ettelbruck, it focuses on the rich gastronomic heritage of Luxembourg and "a return to fundamentals". Its menu includes modern twists on traditional dishes, with weekly lunch specials based on the availability of local produce.
Inspired by French brasserie cuisine, its dishes range from Feierstengszalot (a beef salad with hard-boiled eggs) to Gromperekichelcher (deep fried potato fritters), as well as Bouchée à la Reine (a vol-au-vent with chicken and mushroom in a creamy sauce) and tagliata rib-eye steak.
Its terrace is open during the summer and, in winter, its hosts indoor evenings of quizzes and bingo at weekends.
It is one of sixteen restaurants in the Concept & Partners group which also includes Hitch, Siegfried and the Kin Khao Thai restaurants.
The Kaell restaurant is located at 18a Rue de Welscheid, L-9090 Warken, and caters for both business and family meals. See https://kaell.lu/
