The China Cultural Centre in Luxembourg has announced a three-day cultural programme celebrating Chengdu and the Mid-Autumn Festival, set to take place from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 September 2026.
Organised in collaboration with the Chengdu People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the “Chengdu, More Than Giant Pandas” programme will focus on Tianfu panda culture and intangible cultural heritage through exhibitions, traditional craftsmanship, photography and interactive activities.
The programme will open at the China Cultural Centre in Luxembourg-Ville on Friday at 17:00. The opening ceremony will be followed by an intangible cultural heritage fashion show at 17:20, exhibition visits and an interactive experience at 17:40, and a Mid-Autumn Festival food tasting at 18:00.
Visitors will be able to discover three exhibitions dedicated to giant panda photography, Chengdu’s intangible cultural heritage, Shu brocade and Shu embroidery, as well as a traditional Chinese finger-painting experience.
On Saturday 26 September at 16:00, Lin Xu will lead “Blooming at Your Fingertips”, a lecture and interactive experience focusing on traditional Chinese finger-painting art.
The programme will conclude on Sunday at 16:00 with “Giant Pandas Living in Harmony with Nature”, an ecological photography lecture presented by Zhou Mengqi.
According to the organisers, the programme aims to introduce visitors to Chengdu beyond its famous giant pandas while highlighting Tianfu culture and cultural ties between China and Luxembourg.
Registration is required for the opening event on Friday, while the activities on the remaining days are open to the public without registration.
