On Friday 6 February 2026, Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture announced the launch of three calls for projects targeting the cultural sector.

The first call provides financial support for the organisation of music festivals across all musical genres. The second is a call for proposals for the acquisition of artworks from galleries, while the third aims to support professional art galleries with their publications.

Organisation of music festivals

The call for projects for the organisation of music festivals in Luxembourg for 2026 forms part of the support scheme designed to promote artistic creation and initiatives in the field of music.

The ministry described festivals and events as essential spaces and opportunities for experimentation and community gathering. Aware of their role and of the challenges linked to sustainable development, supported projects are expected to be mindful of limited resources and ensure accessibility for all, by offering a balanced cultural programme across the territory and encouraging engagement among both residents and an international audience.

The application deadlines are 15 March and 15 June 2026. Further information is available on the ministry's website.

Acquisition of artworks from galleries

As part of its policy to support creation, creators, innovation and the emergence of a dynamic cultural sector, the Ministry of Culture annually acquires artworks on behalf of the State. Through the development of this collection, the ministry aims to enhance the visibility of artists' work and contribute to the preservation and promotion of the country's cultural heritage.

The deadline for submitting applications is 20 March 2026. Further information is available here.

Publication support for professional art galleries

This call aims to encourage the development of the visual arts sector in Luxembourg and to support galleries in promoting the artists they represent. It provides financial assistance to cover part of the costs related to the production of an exhibition catalogue, an artist's book or a monograph dedicated to a contemporary artist or artists' collective.

The publication support aims to assist both gallery owners and artists in developing their activities and increasing their national and international visibility.

The deadline for submitting applications is 13 September 2026. Further information is available here.
