On Monday 10 February 2025, Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture launched a Call for Proposals concerning the acquisition of works of art for galleries
As part of its policy of supporting creation, creators and designers as well as innovation and the emergence of a dynamic cultural sector, the Ministry acquires works of art annually on behalf of the State.
The works in this collection are made available in particular for the artistic development of State institutions and ministries; Luxembourg embassies abroad, Luxembourg consulates general and permanent representations of Luxembourg; administrations, institutes and public establishments under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture, as well as in the context of loans to cultural institutions.
With the development of this collection, the Ministry also seeks to contribute to the visibility of the work of artists and to the preservation and promotion of the country's cultural heritage.
This call is addressed to professional art galleries active in the field of visual arts and established in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
