For the fourth consecutive year, employees of Swiss Life Luxembourg were invested and involved in the fight against cancer; on 29 April, the walls of the Rockhal once again shook to the rhythm of an increasingly numerous and motivated public.
After having been 100% rock in previous years, Rock Against Cancer 2016 went back in time diving into the fluo atmosphere of the 80s, headlining Midge Ure (keyboardist of Visage, singer of Ultravox, co-founder of Band Aid), but also the Luxembourg cover band The Noisemakers, already performing at the third edition, and DJ Deniz Labong.
More than 500 people attended on 29 April 2016 to support two Luxembourg associations invested in the fight against cancer - Fondation Cancer Luxembourg and Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner.
“Much more than just a concert, Rock Against Cancer is primarily an entrepreneurial project and a perfect example of the social commitment of a company, its employees, partners, sponsors and artists joining forces to support their fellow citizens” said David Brandt, Human Resources Director at Swiss Life Luxembourg. The Luxembourg-based insurance company dedicates each year time and resources through a collaborative team that supports the organisation of Rock Against Cancer from A to Z.
On 16 September, the €26,000 raised was entirely donated to the two foundations, in the presence of the main sponsors who supported the project in 2016. In the past three years, the project helped collecting €54,000.
For its fifth edition to be held on 5 May 2017, again at the Rockhal, Rock Against Cancer will explore the universe of Rock from the 50s to today...
