A new Luxembourg-based platform, LetzHalal.com, was launched to provide residents and expats with information on halal dining options and alcohol-free establishments across the country.
The initiative coincides with the start of Ramadan, which began on the evening of Tuesday 17 February 2026.
According to the organisers, LetzHalal is a volunteer-led, community-verified project aimed at increasing transparency for users seeking halal-certified venues or alcohol-free environments.
The platform currently lists more than 58 restaurants and cafés, as well as over seven butcheries and grocery stores, covering Luxembourg City, Esch-sur-Alzette, Dudelange, Differdange, Bettembourg, Schifflange and Walferdange.
Users can apply specific filters, including “Alcohol-free”, and may upload supporting documentation to help verify the status of listed venues.
Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is observed by Muslims worldwide as a period of fasting, prayer and reflection and will run until Thursday 19 March 2026.
