On Monday 21 September 2026, One People asbl, a universalist anti-racism association, announced that the fourth edition of Black History Month Luxembourg will take place from Thursday 1 to Saturday 31 October 2026, under the themes “ADN – Héritage” (“DNA – Heritage”) and “Africa Decade”.
According to the association, the month will feature more than 30 events across several cities in Luxembourg, bringing together cultural activities, discussions, debates and personal accounts. One People said its 2025 programme reached more than 200 young people and over one million accounts on social media.
The 2026 programme will address memory and the passing on of heritage, including how younger generations of people of African descent describe their heritage in Luxembourg. It will also explore how to discuss racism, prejudice and identity with pupils and teenagers, and how contemporary artists reinterpret African heritage through film, literature, music and art.
Other topics will include artificial intelligence, small and medium-sized enterprises, entrepreneurship, and Luxembourg’s role in cultural, economic and professional exchanges between Africa and its diasporas.
One People said the programme will bring together speakers from Luxembourg and abroad working in culture, film, literature, education, entrepreneurship and innovation. Invited participants include Assa Traoré, Malik Afegbua, Mouhamadou_le_prof, Michael Roch, Makenzy Orcel, Awa Fall and N.Y.S.Y.M.B Lascony.
The association also highlighted participants from Luxembourg and the Greater Region, including Céline Camara, Abdou Day, Marlee Dos Reis, Igor Tchappi, Don G, Alain Tshinza and Road to Zion.
