On Thursday 5 June 2025, the Luxembourg Airport (lux-Airport) held its regular monthly event for the plane spotter community “Spotter After Work Club ”, organised on the first Thursday of each month at the Skypark Business Center.

The June gathering, which brought together around 100 participants, marked the first anniversary of the monthly plane spotter meetings, launched in June 2024.

Communication and Marketing Manager at lux-Airport, Rebecca Pecnik, explained the origins and purpose of the initiative: "This is a kind of get-together that we invented one year ago, so about 40 to 50 plane supporters meet every first Thursday of the month to share, to connect with each other, to really have a good time together and connect, because a lot of times the plane supporters are waiting for aircraft," said Rebecca Pecnik.

During the event, plane spotters showcased some of their best photographs taken at Luxembourg Airport, accompanied by the stories behind each image.

“It was really, for me, a really kind of a special thing today. Again, to hear the stories behind different pictures. You saw cargo aircraft, you saw special deliveries with special design. You saw special shots from Golden Hour. You also saw sometimes that we have a lot of wildlife here at the airport, a lot of nature. You saw that we have a lot of big aircraft, like the cargo aircraft, the [Boeing] 747. But you also saw we have sport aircraft. So it is, in my mind, it's very unique what we have here,” concluded Rebecca Pecnik-Welsch.
