the Ireland Stand at the International Bazaar held their traditional automn table quiz at the Centre Culturel in Hollerich on Wednesday evening, attracting a large number of teams, 27 in total, each of 6 members.
With all proceeds going to charity - in connection with the International Bazaar being held over the last week-end in November - the organisation could count on takings from entry fees, the bar where both food and drink were served, and the tombola for which there were plenty of prizes.
Phil Taylor as Quizmaster asked a total of ten rounds of 6 questions over a variety of topics, some more difficult than the others. Examples of such questions included: Which is the largest island in the Mediterranian Sea? Who Defeated Serena Williams at the US Open? Who won Best Actor Oscar this year? Name Luxembourg's Minister of Health....
At the end of the evening, the top of the leaderboard was a very close affair, with Sixes and Sevens topping the leaderboard with a total of 50 points, from table #6 with 49 points in 2nd place and a tie for 3rd place between teams #15 and #16, each with 48 points.
As ever, this event was extremely well run, and very well attended too, with the proceeds going to a good cause.
