Luxembourg’s Ministry of Education, Children and Youth has announced the Gala of Conservatory Laureates (Gala des Lauréats), an event celebrating the top students from the the country’s music conservatories, taking place on Wednesday 19 March 2025 at 20:00 at the Théâtre de la Ville d’Esch-sur-Alzette.

The concert highlights the talent of students from the Conservatoires of Luxembourg City and Esch-sur-Alzette, as well as the Conservatoire du Nord, who have distinguished themselves in their final diploma examinations for the 2023/2024 academic year.

The soloists performing at the gala will include Lucie Feuillen (piccolo flute, Conservatoire de la Ville d’Esch-sur-Alzette), Lisa Burke (classical singing, Conservatoire du Nord), Mario Vander Linden (cello, Conservatoire de la Ville d’Esch-sur-Alzette), Gaja Suselj (violin, Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg) and Anna Touliankina (piano, Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg).

The Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra (OPL) will perform under the baton of Giuseppe Mengoli at the Gala of Conservatory Laureates.

Programme:
- Lowell Liebermann: Concerto for Piccolo and Orchestra, performed by soloist Lucie Feuillen on piccolo flute;
- Georg Friedrich Händel: Bel piacere, Lascia ch'io pianga (excerpt from Rinaldo), Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Giunse alfin il momento – Deh vieni non tardar (excerpt from Le Nozze di Figaro) and Robert Stolz: Mein Liebeslied muss ein Walzer sein, performed by soloist Lisa Burke (classical singing);
- Edward Elgar: Cello Concerto in E minor, Op. 85, performed by soloist Mario Vander Linden on cello;
- Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky: Violin Concerto in D major, Op. 35, performed by soloist Gaja Suselj on violin;
- Ludwig van Beethoven: Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor, Op. 37, performed by soloist Anna Touliankina on piano.

The Gala of Conservatory Laureates is organised by the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth, in collaboration with the three conservatoires, the OPL and the City of Esch-sur-Alzette.
