Cologne-based string quartet, the Signum Quartet, will be performing at CAPE Ettelbruck on Wednesday 28 October 2020 at 20:00.
Thanks to its moving lively performances and creative programmes, the Signum Quartet has been described as one of the most remarkable string quartets of its generation, The quartet has won several awards and broken ground by offering unexpected projects, such as the #quartweet social media project launched in 2015, which invited composers around the world to publish a short quartet of 140 characters or less on Twitter.
For this upcoming performance at CAPE, the four musicians will again present the unexpected, alternating classical works by Beethoven and Mozart and rock songs by Led Zeppelin and Cream under the title "Rock Lounge".
As a guest of the Paris Philharmonic, London's Wigmore Hall, Amsterdam's Concertgebouw, the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Cologne Philharmony and the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Signum Quartet performs regularly with partners such as Nils Mönkemeyer, Dominique Horwitz, Jörg Widmann, Daniel Ottensamer and Elisabeth Leonskaja. Radio stations at home and abroad regularly broadcast concerts by the ensemble.
For the Signum Quartet, music means one thing above all else: communication. In concerts as well as in schools, workshops and master classes, the aim is to convey something through music.
