The 160-strong choir will perform Bruckner’s “Te Deum” and the same composer’s “Psalm 150”. Both pieces are among the most impressive works in the history of sacred music, but are played rather rarely (in fact, they have never been played in Luxembourg before). In addition to this, the audience will hear the Overture to Wagner’s “Meistersinger” and the famous Adagio from Bruckner’s Sixth Symphonie.
Conducted by Antonio Grosu, the choir will be accompanied by an ensemble from the Musique Militaire Grand-ducale and the Orchestre Symphonique de la Grande Région.
For tickets (€35, €45, €55; U27s €21, €27, €33), see www.philharmonie.lu or tel: 2632-2632.
