
Luxembourgish pianist Jean Muller will be taking his talent across the world soon with two tours in China set for November 2015 and April 2016.
The first tour will take the musician, whose playing Fanfare magazine claims "is guaranteed to brings chills and thrills", to Yangzhou and Shanghai, as well as the famous Guangzhou Opera House of famous architect Zaha Hadid. In addition, Muller will by performing Mozart's complete sonatas for piano solos at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center in April of next year.
Luxembourg-born Jean Muller holds one of the largest repertoires of his generation and has already performed the complete cycles of Beethoven's and Mozart's Sonatas for piano in concert. Cited as "a major talent" by Gramophone magazine, his nimble fingers and delicate artistry has earned him no less than twelve first prizes in international competitions, including the 'Critic's Choice' award from Gramophone, 'International Piano Choice' from International Piano Magazine and CD of the Week from Deutschlandradio Kultur.
Past projects have included a global recital tour based on the album 'Chopin Recital' and another with 'Transcendence', dedicated to the Transcendental Études of Liszt as well as the Mephisto Waltz No1 in the devilish version by Vladimir Horowitz. Muller is currently working on sonatas and piano concertos by Mozart and is the 'artist in residence' of the Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra, for which he will provide the artistic direction for the 2016/2017 season.
