The third winter season of the Festival de Wiltz will be kicked off on Saturday 17 October 2015 with a cello and piano concert.
Cellist Didier Poskin has performed as part of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Flanders and made his move towards chamber music by joining the Verdi Quartet in Cologne with whom he travelled the world and recorded the complete quartets of Schubert. Didier now divides his time between teaching and performing solo or chamber music concerts.
Alice Di Piazza will be bringing her innate piano talents to Wiltz on Saturday, demonstrating the technical perfection and virtuosity of her playing.
The programme will be comprised of a sonata for the cello and the piano by Handel; a cello and piano Italian piece by Stravinsky; a solo piano chaconne by Gubaidulina; and a sonata for cello and piano by Prokofiev.
The concert will take place at 20:15 at the Salle des Chevaliers (Knights Hall) of the Château de Wiltz. Tickets costs €20 and subscription costs €80. To reserve, contact 958-145 or festival.wiltz@internet.lu.
