On Wednesday 15 July 2026, the Oikopolis Luxembourg Group announced that BIOG & NATURATA had presented a €5,000 cheque to the Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner during the Ettelbruck Agricultural Fair on Saturday 4 July 2026, recognising the exceptional voluntary commitment of René and Marianne Metz.
According to the group, the colourful hot-air balloon displayed at the BIOG & NATURATA stand during the Ettelbruck Agricultural Fair was handcrafted over approximately 150 hours by René Metz and his wife, Marianne. René Metz founded the Modellballonen Lëtzebuerg association ten years ago to support social organisations through fundraising initiatives and, instead of accepting payment for his work, asks clients to make a donation to a charitable cause. The donation to the Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner, which has supported children with cancer and their families in Luxembourg for more than 35 years, recognised this longstanding voluntary commitment.
"We are delighted and extremely grateful for this generous donation," said Edmée Becker of the Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner. "On behalf of the many children and families we support in Luxembourg, we sincerely thank René Metz, as well as NATURATA and BIOG, for their valuable support."
BIOG & NATURATA also described the donation as particularly meaningful. "With this donation, we hope to help children with cancer and their families experience moments of joy and hope. We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to René Metz and his wife Marianne for their remarkable work and for their generous decision to forgo payment and instead support this social project," said Ralf Leifgen, Chairman of the Board of the Oikopolis Group, which includes NATURATA and Biogros, distributors of BIOG products.
