On Friday 11 July 2025, Stëmm vun der Strooss, a Luxembourg-based non-profit organisation which supports people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable members of society, reported that it recently received a donation from the Lëtzebuerger Guiden a Scouten Ste Catherine in Sanem.
On Friday 4 July 2025, during their annual "Simply Scout" evening, the Lëtzebuerger Guiden a Scouten Ste Catherine Suessem presented a cheque for €2,800 to Stëmm vun der Strooss.
Each year, as part of the Buergbrennen tradition, the scouting group organises a fundraising drive throughout Sanem. True to their motto, "A good deed every day," they donate the funds collected to a local charity. This year, they chose to donate the entire amount to Stëmm vun der Strooss - specifically to the Schweesdrëps workshop located in Sanem, near their own scout headquarters.
Bob Ritz, head of communications at Stëmm vun der Strooss, accepted the donation. He thanked the young people and their leaders and gave an overview of the association's various activities, with a particular focus on the Schweesdrëps reintegration workshop. Specialising in washing sports clothing, this workshop employs more than 30 people in professional reintegration, who clean the gear and uniforms of over 500 sports teams across Luxembourg. The funds will help improve working conditions through investments in new equipment and processes.
Stëmm vun der Strooss said: "This generous gesture strengthens the bond between local youth and community-focused solidarity projects. It also reflects a strong and tangible awareness of civic responsibility among the younger generation."
