Stëmm vun der Strooss, a Luxembourg-based non-profit organisation which supports people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable members of society, has reported that it recently received a €4,500 donation from the Mëllerdall Saint Michel parish.

The initiative was launched by Josiane Poos from the parish, who invited Alexandra Oxacelay, Director of Stëmm vun der Strooss, to a meeting on Sunday 19 May 2025. During the visit, Ms Oxacelay presented the mission and activities of the non-profit organisation, which operates nine sites across Luxembourg and supports individuals in precarious situations.

Moved by the organisation’s work, the parish organised a fundraising campaign during the autumn and Advent season. The appeal was shared across churches in the five municipalities that make up the Mëllerdall Saint Michel parish. The campaign raised a total of €4,500, thanks to donations from parishioners and local residents.

Michael Bingen, President of the Pastoral Council of the Mëllerdall Saint Michel parish, officially presented the cheque to the organisation. According to Stëmm vun der Strooss, this contribution has supported renovation and extension works at its social restaurant located at 7 Rue de la Fonderie in Luxembourg-Hollerich. The project aims to improve the welcome and services offered to beneficiaries in a more functional and respectful setting.

Stëmm vun der Strooss expressed its gratitude to the parish and all donors for their solidarity and continued support.
