SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde has announced that the fifth edition of the 20 km for SOS campaign for vulnerable children will take place from Sunday 1 to Monday 30 June 2025.
According to the Luxembourg-based non-profit organisation, the aim of the challenge is to complete a sponsored outdoor activity e.g. rollerblading, cycling or running over a distance of 20km to raise funds to help vulnerable children. This can be achieved by encouraging family, friends and/or colleagues to sponsor each kilometre accomplished with a minimum donation of €5. The challenge is open to everyone and can be completed solo, in groups of two or more, with family or friends, in one go or split over time, anytime during the month of June. One can also set one’s own pace if required.
This year’s slogan is: #LeaveNoOneBehind.
The organisers added that by joining the challenge, participants can support vulnerable children benefiting from the work carried out by SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde. SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde is committed to long-term development programmes in West Africa (Benin, Guinea, Niger and Senegal) and Uzbekistan. In contexts of emergency and resilience, the organisation takes action wherever conflicts, disasters and crises threaten the lives of children and their families. It currently supports projects in countries such as Colombia, Ethiopia, Palestine and Ukraine and is also involved in education projects in Cape Verde, Laos and Morocco.
