Cactus solidarity donations;

Cactus supermarkets have announced that, in 2024, thanks to the sale of its solidarity products in stores, customer donations, and actions carried out throughout the year, it was able to present five cheques to its partners committed to what it described as "essential causes".
Cactus explained that each of these organisations is fighting for a better world, and it is supporting them to advance these causes. It added that "without its customers, nothing would be possible; it is thanks to them that solidarity takes on its full meaning".
The donations / presentations included:
1. UNICEF – Defending Children's Rights
UNICEF works globally to guarantee the fundamental rights of children, ensuring their access to education, healthcare and protection from violence. Thanks to the "Charity Card Customers" initiatives, the solidarity sale of Cactus orange juice, and the Wanteraktioun campaign, which ensures that children affected by war do not suffer from the cold in winter, Cactus was able to present a cheque for €16,272 to support this essential cause.
2. Hëllef fir d'Natur Foundation for Nature & Environment – Environmental Protection
The Hëllef fir d'Natur Foundation for Nature & Environment works to preserve forests, biodiversity and natural resources, which are essential for future generations. Through the sale of Cactus Bio Naturbrout and Séisse Viz vu Berbuerg, Cactus contributed €18,061 to support its work. These funds finance conservation projects, the restoration of natural environments, and biodiversity awareness initiatives, enabling the foundation to continue its work for a more sustainable future in Luxembourg.
3. Stand Speak Rise Up – Combating Violence Against Women in War
Created to combat sexual violence against women in armed conflict, Stand Speak Rise Up! gives a voice to survivors and advocates for concrete actions for protection and justice. Thanks to the sale of Bruno Café du Cœur and Chouchous du Cœur, Cactus was able to raise €8,018 to support their essential mission.
4. FNEL – Support for the Luxembourg Scouts
The FNEL (National Federation of Scouts and Girl Guides of Luxembourg) plays a key role in educating young people by instilling in them the values of solidarity, commitment and respect for the environment. Thanks to the sale of Cactus solidarity jam, Cactus donated €2,500 to support their projects and their positive impact on young people.
Cactus' statement concluded with "None of this would have been possible without the generosity and commitment of our customers. Thanks to them, every charitable purchase has been a valuable contribution to these organizations and the causes they champion. Thank you for your solidarity, your trust, and your commitment!"
