On Thursday 27 March 2025, SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde announced the formalisation of a partnership with Luxembourg's flag carrier Luxair, marked by a €10,000 donation aimed at supporting a post-earthquake education initiative in Morocco.

According to the press release, this collaboration was formalised on Monday 24 March 2025 during a meeting between Luxair CEO Gilles Feith and SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde Director Sophie Glesener at Luxair’s headquarters in Munsbach.

The partnership was marked by the presentation of a cheque for €10,000, following the sale of Luxair-branded Christmas jumpers in 2024. The proceeds were equally distributed between two local organisations: Fondation Kriibskrank Kanner and SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde.

On behalf of the SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde team, I sincerely thank the management and employees of Luxair for this partnership, which has a promising future. It is about supporting the most vulnerable children around the world and building the foundations of a fairer, more equitable and more inclusive world for future generations,” said Sophie Glesener.

The €10,000 donation to SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde will support a major project for the construction and development of a coeducational secondary school and a boarding facility for girls near the SOS Village in Aït Ourir, at the foot of the High Atlas Mountains. “This project was launched in response to the September 2023 earthquake, which devastated the Al Haouz province, destroyed numerous schools and deprived many children of education,” the press release noted.
