Credit: Stëmm vun der Strooss
Luxembourg celebrated the end of winter and beginning of spring with “Buergbrennen” bonfires in many municipalities, during the weekend of Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 March 2025.
Members of the Bierenger Veräiner (Beringen Clubs) organised Buergbrennen again this year in Beringen (municipality of Mersch) as a charity event. The Bierenger Veräiner are made up of the Gaart & Heem vu Biereng, 5x Beringen, Kürbisfrënn Biereng and Jugend vu Biereng clubs.
This year, the members of the Bierenger Veräiner invited Philippe Frisch, educator at Stëmm vun der Strooss, to take part in the Buergbrennen festivities where they presented him with a cheque for €1,711. Philippe Frisch took the opportunity to outline the activities of Stëmm vun der Strooss and its post-therapeutic centre in Schoenfels to the donors.
The teams from the post-therapeutic centre in Schoenfels were also actively involved in Buergbrennen 2025 and offered the numerous spectators warm soup and a traditional “Ierzebulli” (pea stew).
Stëmm vun der Strooss thanked the members of the Bierenger Veräiner for their donation.
