On Friday 14 February 2025, the Majany Foundation, under the support of the Fondation de Luxembourg, provided a little comfort to the beneficiaries of non-profit organisation Stëmm vun der Strooss and celebrated Valentine's Day with them.
For the seventh year in a row, Frédéric Loridon and Laurent Meiers, representatives of the Majany Foundation, gave 700 roses to people in vulnerable situations on the day. This year, the distribution was extended to include the “Saxo” (Saxophone) day care centre in Luxembourg-Gare/Hollerich, as well as Stëmm’s three social restaurants in Luxembourg-Hollerich, Esch-sur-Alzette and Ettelbruck, enabling it to reach even more people.
Receiving a rose may seem insignificant, but for many it is a gesture that brings joy and comfort and reminds everyone that they are important, noted Stëmm vun der Strooss.
The Majany Foundation has been involved in Stëmm's projects for several years, having contributed to the financing of a professional oven in 2019, a heated pergola in 2021 and part of the renovation work on the Hollerich location’s extension in 2024.
Stëmm vun der Strooss thanked the Majany Foundation and the Fondation de Luxembourg for their loyal commitment, as well as the company Fleurs Vry, which ensured the morning delivery of the roses.
Thanks to this initiative, Valentine's Day was celebrated through sharing and solidarity, the non-profit concluded.
