SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde has announced that its 48th Gala Concert will take place on Thursday 12 December 2024 at 19:30 in the Grand Auditorium of the Philharmonie in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.
The Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra will perform at this benefit concert under the direction of South Korean conductor Hankyeol Yoon. The soloist for the evening will be the Ukrainian violinist Dmytro Udovychenko, winner of the Queen Elizabeth Competition 2024, who will perform Max Bruch's Violin Concerto No. 1.
Following the interval the orchestra will perform the famous Carmen Suites by Georges Bizet.
This year Benin has been chosen as the partner country of SOS Villages d'Enfants Monde. The proceeds from the benefit concert, organised with the support of EY, will go to two projects focusing on the children's rights, as well as an art awareness project in the country. There has been a branch of SOS Villages d'Enfants present in Benin since 1987, where they offer support to vulnerable children, young people and families throughout eighteen localities in the municipalities of Abomey-Calavi and Parakou.
Ticket prices start at €30 and are available via tel: 263-22632 or at https://ticket.philharmonie.lu/phoenix/webticket/seatmap?eventId=7955
