Pour une Parenthèse asbl has announced that it is organising its first Elephant Run solidarity race in Luxembourg on Saturday 12 October 2024.

The event is split into a 60 km race (starting at 08:00) and afternoon conferences (from 14:00) on the subject of paediatric palliative care. Various partner associations will also be present with information stands on the premises of Schroeder & Associés (13 Rue de l'Innovation, L-1896 Kockelscheuer) on the occasion of World Hospice and Palliative Care Day.

Through this solidarity race, the organisers are aiming to draw attention to the need for paediatric palliative care and for a "respite home" for seriously ill children and young adults in Luxembourg, but also to highlight those who have been working for several years for these same causes.

Stéphanie Rosquin, co-founder of Pour une Parenthèse, will run all six stages of the 60 km race to raise awareness about paediatric palliative care in Luxembourg and to show solidarity among the associations already working in this field. The goal is to highlight how much there is still to do to support children and families affected by serious illnesses.

All support is welcome, and participants may choose to walk or run the race. Less sporty participants may choose to take part in the loops planned at the finish and attend the conferences, before celebrating the fifth anniversary of the non-profit organisation.

The registration fee is €35, which serves as a donation to the non-profit and its project.
