APL Donates €2.5k to Stëmm vun der Strooss

Stëmm vun der Strooss, a local non-profit organisation which supports people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable members of society, has announced that the Association Amitié Portugal-Luxembourg (APL) recently donated €2,500 to the charity.

As part of their traditional festival, which took place on Sunday 30 June in the area of Lake Echternach, the President of the APL, Silvio Duarte, presented a cheque for €2,500 to Alexandra Oxacelay, Director of the Stëmm vun der Strooss. This sum was raised thanks to the commitment of all members of the association during their festival on 27 April, the association noted.

As Alexandra Oxacelay emphasised, this is not the first time that the APL supports Stëmm vun der Strooss. She added that this solidarity may be directly linked to the fact that 14% of the disadvantaged people who are welcomed daily in the various social restaurants, where almost 200,000 meals were served in 2023, are of Portuguese nationality.
