Stëmm vun der Strooss, a local non-profit organisation which supports people experiencing homelessness and vulnerable members of society, has announced that the Inner Wheel Diekirch-Ettelbruck handed a check of 1500€ over to Martin Debessel, graduate educator of the Stëmm vun der Strooss in Ettelbruck.

Alix Meyers-Wanderscheid, Nicole Wilhelm-Petry, Jeanine Limpach, Christiane Koeune-Nickels, Paule Grunig-Theis and Denise Fischer-Thoma presented the donation. Part of the donation was acquired during the association's yearly Christmas market.

Located at 47 rue Prince Henri in Ettelbruck, the northern branch of Stëmm vun der Strooss opens its doors from Monday to Friday, form 11:30 to 15:30. Every day, nearly 100 visitors visit the premises. Stëmm vun der Strooss reported the centre has had local support from several associations, since its opening in February 2023. This time, the local club Inner Wheel Diekirch-Ettelbruck aimed their donation to support the Dokter Stëmm service and maintain the possibility of free medical consultations.

This donation contributes to the smooth continuation of the Dokter Stëmm service at the northern branch. Since November 2023, consultations have been provided once a week by doctors on a volunteer basis. These consultations aim to provide better information, treatment and health education. Dokter Stëmm sets up every Tuesday from 13:00 to 16:00 at the premises of the medical-social centre located just a few steps away from the Stëmm vun der Strooss restaurant. Beneficiaries can make an appointment directly at the social restaurant.
