The British Ladies Club of Luxembourg (BLC) has reported that it recently donated more than €2,000 to the Association Luxembourg Alzheimer (ALA).
On Tuesday 3 October 2023, BLC Chair Jade Marie Bajai visited the ALA to present a donation of €2,200 in the form of a cheque. The BLC noted that this donation marks its commitment to supporting essential charitable organisations, with the ALA being their chosen Luxembourg beneficiary for the 2022/23 year.
The BLC has a long-standing tradition of selecting both a UK and a Luxembourg-based charity to support through its fundraising activities. This year, the club recognised the vital role played by the ALA in the lives of those affected by Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
The ALA has been at the forefront of the fight against Alzheimer's and dementia in Luxembourg for many years. Its activities include providing support for individuals living with Alzheimer's and dementia, as well as their families and caregivers, and raising awareness within the community, through public events, workshops and campaigns. The ALA also actively engages in research initiatives to advance the understanding of Alzheimer's disease. In addition, it operates day care centres where individuals with dementia can receive specialised care while their families and caregivers take a much-needed break.
The €2,200 donation will go towards enhancing the lives of individuals and families affected by Alzheimer's disease, as well as promoting research and awareness. Jade Marie Bajai expressed her admiration for the ALA, saying: "We are honoured to support the Association Luxembourg Alzheimer. The impact they have on our community is immeasurable and we value their work enormously."
