The Rotary Club Luxembourg-Hearts has announced details of a fundraising event on the Japanese theme "Colours of Japan: nature, design, food" with proceeds in aid of Arcus asbl

The event is being organised in collaboration with the Banque Internationale à Luxembourg (BIL) and will take place on Wednesday 6 September 2023 from 18:15 in the premises of BIL (69 Route d'Esch, L-2953 Luxembourg).

The event will comprise a conference, delivered by Professor Rossella Menegazzo, expert in East Asian history of art, archaeology, and philosophy at the University of Milan. the conference will explore the significance of colours in antique and contemporary Japanese design, with a focus on their inspiration drawn from nature. The event will also feature a tasting of five types of sake, presented by a Japanese sommelier, accompanied by Japanese culinary specialties.

The objective of this conference is to raise funds in support of Arcus asbl, to support their project on animal-assisted therapy and pedagogy for children and teenagers in distress residing at "Kannerhaiser."

A number of dignitaries will be present, including Paulette Lenert, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Yuriko Backes, Minister of Finance, Tadahiro Matsubara, Ambassador of Japan to Luxembourg, and Corinne Cahen, Alderwoman of the City of Luxembourg.
