In October 2021, the social restaurant of Stëmm vun der Strooss in Esch-sur-Alzette was able to open its doors on three Sundays instead of two, as a result of the non-profit's collaboration with the Association Musulmane Ahmadiyya Luxembourg (AMAL).

Through the charity's good relationship with AMAL, those in need were able to enjoy a quality home-cooked meal.

The first collaboration between Stëmm vun der Strooss, a Luxembourg charity which supports the homeless and vulnerable members of society, and AMAL, a local association which forms part of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community's international revival movement within Islam, dates back to 18 April 2021. The idea was to bring together disadvantaged people and people from different cultures for a charity lunch.

The menu consisted of lentil soup, minced meat and potatoes, served with rice and salad. In total, AMAL provided the less fortunate with 100 hot dishes. Drinks were donated by Stëmm vun der Strooss and customers were served by volunteers.

"We spent a nice moment, the food was excellent and the atmosphere was great", commented Francesco Settanni, who is responsible for Stëmm vun der Strooss in Esch-sur-Alzette. Mr Settanni expressed pride at having such a reliable partner and stressed the importance of maintaining this relationship. "In the meantime, we are more than just partners, the members of the AMAL association have become real friends", he added.
