The Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte recently donated €11,540 to Stëmm vun der Strooss, a Luxembourg charity which supports the homeless and vulnerable members of society.

In the midst of the COVID-19 Crisis, this donation enabled the Schweesdrëps workshop at Stëmm vun der Strooss to purchase 20 new trollies, thus allowing those who benefit from a professional reintegration measure to work more efficiently.

"Our working conditions have improved significantly. We can almost completely prevent people in professional reintegration from carrying heavy loads, which results in fewer absences due to illness", noted Marc Balthasar, Manager of this professional reintegration workshop, where 4,000 sports club uniforms are washed every week. "The shelf trollies and ten other foldable trollies help us to optimise our workflow system and we will continue to use them when moving to our new facilities in Sanem".

Alexandra Oxacelay, Director of Stëmm vun der Strooss, added: "It is not the first time that the Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte supports the Stëmm vun der Strooss. Already in 2015, it financed the construction of a barn for the post-therapy centre in Schoenfels. Moreover, the establishment recently donated a professional mixer to the kitchen team in Hollerich".

The Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande-Duchesse Charlotte is a public institution that supports organisations in the following areas: social, environment, culture, sport and health, remembrance.
