Luxembourg construction company Pianon SA has donated €5,000 to local charity SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde.
After having made donations to SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde on various occasions, Pianon SA, a construction company based in Bettange-sur-Mess in south-western Luxembourg, decided to make a more substantial commitment by replacing the end-of-year gifts for its customers with a donation to the association.
Christine and Angela Pianon recently presented the NGO's director, Sophie Glesener, with the resulting cheque for €5,000 during a ceremony held in the offices of SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde. This sum is intended to support the current projects supported by the association. Christine Pianon commented: "We are delighted to be able to make our contribution to the building of a world where children are protected and develop in the best possible conditions".
Sophie Glesener presented the projects which will benefit from this donation, as well as thanking the representatives of Pianon SA for past support and this more recent contribution: “For more than 45 years, SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde has been serving the most vulnerable children and families in the world and it is thanks to such partnerships that we can, with the SOS teams in the field, support them in the long term towards a better life”.
In Africa, the Middle East and Eurasia, SOS Villages d’Enfants Monde is involved in projects that focus on children's rights, protection, care, well-being and education. In the development field, it is particularly involved in West Africa (Guinea, Mali, Niger, Senegal) and, in the field of emergency aid, it is currently mobilised in five countries (Central African Republic, Iraq, Mali, Mozambique and Chad).
