In 2019, Cactus raised a total of €10,445 in favour of UNICEF Luxembourg, through the sale of orange juice.
Cactus continued its long-standing commitment to UNICEF in Luxembourg last year with a donation from the sale of its own brand orange juice. For each one-litre carton of orange juice from its own brand sold, Cactus donated 10 cents to UNICEF Luxembourg, whose mission is to defend the rights of children and guarantee them a better future.
The initiative raised a total of €10,445, for which Laurent Schonckert, Managing Director of the Cactus group, recently presented a cheque to UNICEF representatives in Luxembourg. to support the "Living Schools" project in Malawi, located in East Africa. The funds will support the “Living Schools” education project in Malawi. located in East Africa.
Living Schools are true schools for life for young people in Malawi, one of the poorest countries in the world. Here, students learn the skills necessary to organise their lives independently and sustainably. These schools provide opportunities for girls and boys by giving them access to education and showing them how to use their country's resources in an ecological and sustainable manner. Donations have contributed to the installation of water pumps, powered by solar energy, in schools, the provision of school materials and growing plants for the school garden, the latter allowing children to learn the basics of gardening and environmental protection.
Since the launch of solidarity orange juice sales in 2012, Cactus has raised a total of €81,411 for UNICEF Luxembourg, aimed at supporting the association's education projects all over the world.
