Thanks to its solidarity "Boxemännchen" sale, Cactus has raised over €3,000 for SOS Kannerduerf Lëtzebuerg.
The sale of this Stuten-based pastry in Cactus supermarkets and C-Shoppi stores allowed the supermarket chain to raise €3,213 for SOS Kannerduerf Lëtzebuerg. Through the Boxemännchen solidarity operation, Cactus committed to donating ten cents to the Luxembourg NGO, particularly to SOS Kannerduerf Mersch, which provides daily care for children and adolescents in difficulty.
The solidarity "Boxemännchen" were specially created and manufactured in the workshops of Cactus' partner, the Jos & Jean-Marie bakery. The pastry, filled with cream and Fairtrade chocolate, was sold in all Cactus and C-shoppi stores, from 8 October to 8 December 2019.
On Monday 16 December 2019, Cactus representatives, as well as the Jos & Jean-Marie bakery presented the cheque to the management of SOS Kannerduerf Lëtzebuerg. For the festive occasion Jos & Jean-Marie gave the children sweet treats, whilst Cactus offered them surprises in the form of its mascot, Yuppi.
