Donation Month 2019 will mobilise more than 2,000 volunteers throughout Luxembourg between 30 March and 30 April.

During this period, volunteers will meet inhabitants to present the Luxembourg Red Cross and raise funds. The sums received will make it possible to finance actions on the ground for the benefit of the most vulnerable people. Donation Month is a fundraiser for the benefit of the beneficiaries.

For Luc Scheer, member of the management committee, "every year is a new challenge for our volunteers who, in their free time, invest in the most vulnerable. The challenge is to make our donors understand that we must not let our guard down. If Luxembourg is a rich country, there are still many people who need help." This is why the communication campaign that supports these efforts was renewed this year around a central message: "Thank you in advance".

This thank you is on behalf of the beneficiaries, who, thanks to the donations, have seen their personal and family situation improve, even with sums that may seem relatively unimportant. For example, with €50, a family of four can do their shopping for the week in one of the eight social grocery stores of the Luxembourg Red Cross. These stores provide people in poverty with food and everyday products at about a third of market prices. Thus, beneficiaries see their purchasing power increase, while gaining access to fresh and healthy products.
