Caritas Queteusesfest Challenge 2018;

This year's "Caritas Challenge" campaign in aid of disadvantaged children and young people in Luxembourg was held under the motto "For a better future!" Many donors gathered this year during May in parishes across the country to collect for needy children in Luxembourg.

Also, collections were held in many churches, with the total reaching €9,509.

Recently, everyone involved in this campaign met together in the presence of Caritas President, Marie-Josée Jacobs. Looking back on the success of this year's home and church collections, Ms Jacobs thanked the volunteers for not losing their courage despite increasingly difficult conditions (fewer and fewer people are opening their doors, fewer and fewer families are staying home during the day) and staffing the collections every year their parish perform. Thanks were also due to the parishes who sent their church collections to Caritas.

On the occasion of the celebration, the collectors visited the "Caritas Buttek" social shop on the Rue Michel Welter in Luxembourg City. Fruit and vegetables, as well as staple foods and dairy products, are available there for one third of the usual purchase price. The volunteers were thus able to understand how disadvantaged children, adolescents and their families can eat healthier and more varied through the social shops "Caritas Buttek". To date, there are four "Caritas Buttek" throughout the country.
