The Indian Association Luxembourg (IAL) has donated €5,000 to the victims of the recent devastating floods in Kerala in India.
The IAL had launched a "Kerala Calamity Appeal" from which they raised €1,420. The IAL executive committee decided to increase the amount from association funds, and bolstered this is €5,000 which they described as "a small token from our community". The IAL acknowledged "it is not even a drop of what is required for rehabilitation needs" and added "We would be continuously monitoring the progress and need of our helping hands from Rotary Club and will do needful and keep our appeal for funds open".
Since their aim was to make the funds reach the most needy families without any administrative delays, the IAL selected the Rotary Club of Coimbatore, with the help of Madhu Ramachandran, whose batchmates and their families are physically helping and monitoring supply of relief material.
Those wishing to add to the money raised can donate to the Indian Association asbl Charity account: BIC LILLLULL, IBAN LU650021139711041700, communication "Kerala Calamity".
