On Thursday 9 July 2026, the City of Luxembourg (VdL) launched a new call for applications for the rental of the "Pop-up Hub", the former LUGA Science Hub premises on Rue St Ulric in Luxembourg-Ville, where workshops, classes and group activities are set to take place from October 2026.
By offering short-term commercial rentals, the VdL enables creators, entrepreneurs and startups to test new products, services or concepts directly with customers. The “pop-up store” model serves as a springboard, giving tenants initial experience in a physical shop before committing long-term. These temporary shops also help to broaden the city’s commercial offer and attract a diverse audience.
The premises cover a total area of 121 m² and include a 50 m² wooden terrace. The VdL will accept proposals in the fields of well-being, such as yoga or pilates, as well as art and leisure activities, including creative workshops for children or adults, and sports-related activities. The VdL may select several candidates in order to offer a regular and diversified programme of activities.
The rental period is eleven months. The monthly rent is €250, with a general service charge payable in addition.
Interested entrepreneurs and start-ups can submit their applications until Friday 31 July 2026 via the application form available on the VdL website.
Only complete applications including the form and a project description will be taken into consideration. The selection criteria include the availability of candidates as well as the originality and quality of the proposed concepts.
Owners of temporarily vacant commercial spaces who wish to join the project may contact the Economic and Commercial Development Unit of the VdL (via tel: 4796-5000, Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 14:00 to 17:00 / via email: dec@vdl.lu).
