Chaussures Maniet! Luxus has announced the opening of its fourth shop in Luxembourg and reported that it aims to sell one million shoes by the end of 2025.
Established in the Grand Duchy since 2002, the Belgian family business is opening a new shoe shop in Strassen to serve both Luxembourgers and cross-border workers. In total, more than 30 employees now work for Maniet in Luxembourg.
Chaussures Maniet! Luxus, which celebrated its 120th anniversary in 2023, opened its fourth Luxembourg shop on Wednesday 11 September 2024, thus reaching 2,000 m2 of commercial space in the Grand Duchy. This now brings the number of Maniet! Luxus stores in Belgium and Luxembourg to 30. The ambition of this fourth shoe shop in the Grand Duchy is to enable Chaussures Maniet to pass the milestone of one million shoes sold since their arrival in 2002 and 10% of its turnover,
The company noted that the employees present in the new Strassen shop have already been trained in a Maniet store before. With this experience, they are expected to continue to advise customers "with passion and a taste for the profession".
The new shop also offers a new concept combining both self-service where the customer can choose the pair of shoes of their choice and a traditional service where a sales associate guides them in finding the right pair.
In setting up this new shoe shop, Chaussures Maniet said it wanted to minimise its carbon footprint. The furniture was designed in a sustainable way: the wood used was carefully selected for its solidity, is untreated and comes from the Liège region. In addition, the furniture was made by standardising the cuts, and any scraps of raw materials were reused in order, in particular, to develop the children's play area.
Building on the success of its annual collection of 15,000 pairs of shoes carried out in Belgium with the ASBL Les Petits Riens, Chaussures Maniet! Luxus plans to replicate this action in Luxembourg with local stakeholders. The company is thus launching an appeal to Luxembourg associations to find a partner to help give a second life to the shoes that will be collected in Luxembourg shops. The new collection wave will begin on Monday 16 September 2024 - customers will be able to bring unused pairs of shoes to their closest Chaussures Maniet shop.
Allison Vanderplancke, CEO of Chaussures Maniet SA, commented: "By opening this fourth address in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, I am particularly proud to set up this new shopping concept that will allow us to serve Luxembourgers and cross-border workers even better. We are convinced that our family and human approach with an emphasis on advice will attract even more new customers to the new Strassen store."
Nico Pundel, Mayor of Strassen, noted: "I am very happy to see this new, pleasant and bright store open in Strassen. What is important to me is the eco-responsible concern of Chaussures Maniet! Luxus in the design of the store but also in its eco-scored approach to the shoes offered."
Mélanie Dagonau, Shop Manager in Strassen, added: "For me, this new store concept corresponds to the changing expectations of customers who love and follow fashion very closely. I am also delighted to take up the challenge that the Maniet-Vanderplancke family has set me. Launching this new store is an opportunity for me to uphold Chaussures Maniet's strong values of respect, passion and kindness towards both its customers and its employees."
